If you have any questions or concerns about your pet’s diet. If your pet had been diagnosed with a medical condition and you don’t know what the best diet is for him. The hardest part of researching anything is sifting through all that information and deciphering what is fact and what is opinion.
Many people offer their advice with good intentions, but unfortunately, most of the information they are passing on is not based on facts. I have spent most of my career attending lectures and conferences given by the experts in each field. By doing this, I have amassed a wealth of knowledge in nutrition and wellness for dogs and cats. I have also had the opportunity to gather a lot of anecdotal evidence on many different medical conditions and treatments. If you would like to finally know what you should really be doing for the health of your furry friend it is time to set up a consultation.
No matter what your schedule, we have a few different consultation options for you. All consultations provide: A 1 hour one on one personal review of your pets current diet, treats, lifestyle and medical records. Diet and/or supplement recommendations customized to your pet based on evaluation of all information you provide. You will also receive any updated research information corresponding to your pets wellness needs. Even if your pet does not have a current medical condition, this consultation will help you make the best decisions for your pet to keep him as healthy as possible. In Store Consultations: $75.00/hr. Email consult: $55.00.

Hello,
My 11 year old beagle/boxer, Bailey has just recently been diagnosed with diabetes. Prior to this, he had been overweight and then he very quickly lost weight and began drinking and going to the bathroom excessively. He has been on insulin for about 4 weeks now and finally his glucose has leveled off at about 130. He currently takes 12ml of insultin 2x/day after each meal. It had increasingly been going up to high levels and this was the first week it has gone down. I have been trying to research online what to do for his diet. The vet recommened Hills prescription or Royal Canin, wet foods. I have been giving him the Hills, and he does like it, but frankly the ingredients just do not look very healthy. Plus, I see the Hills is made by Merck, and I’m sure they have the vets in their pocket just as they do with the prescription drugs they provide to doctors. Online I see many different alternatives of course. From preparing your own natural recipes, to using Ketona or Orijen, which are highly recommended for the kibbles (and then maybe adding some ground turkey or chicken to it). Is wet or dry food better….I see different opinions on that as well. Of course should be low carb. I also struggle with snacking in between. What is best for that? I want to do what is best for my dog, and thought consulting a dog nutritionalist would be a good idea. Do you offer consulting via email, of course for a fee. Or do you think it is more beneficial to come in for a consultation? I live in Lake Hopatcong.
Thank you,
Pam Noone
Hi Amy
It’s Alba. My daughter recently adopted a GS puppy. We would like to set up a consult with you to review some concerns about current diet and GI issues we’ve encountered with this pup.
Hi Amy,
I was wondering if you could recommend a Long haired Chihuahua breeder?
